Zen garden · in the JP Note focus timer
25 minutes of focus. One more tree.
While you work, a plant grows above the timer. After the round it moves into your garden. No score, no pressure, just a place that gets a little fuller every day.

The first maple
Three rounds, and stepping stones already lie on the path. At the back the spot for the tea house is marked out.

- 11 plants
Water basin and lantern
From the sixth plant a stone basin trickles, from the tenth the lantern glows in the evening.

- 26 plants
Fence, bridge, foundation
A bamboo fence closes the garden, a bridge leads across the pond from bank to bank and the foundation of the tea house lies at the back.

- 41 plants
Water lilies and koi
The frame of the tea house stands, water lilies bloom in the pond and a second koi swims its circles.

- 60 plants
One month, sixty spots
With the sixtieth plant the tea house is finished and the pagoda stands. On the first of the next month a new garden begins and the old one moves into the garden book.

Minute 25Moves into the garden
If you stop a round after at least a minute, a stone goes into the garden. That is part of it too.
Which seed will it be?
Every tree has its own seed, with its own shape and colour. Before the round you open the seed box and pick one or let yourself be surprised. What it turns into shows once the tree is half grown.
- 6 trees with ProTwo of each size, picked at random. They are in your box after the first opening.
- More in the points shopOne by one or as a surprise seed for 500 points. It always draws a tree you do not have yet.
- Rather without the box?Switch to “Plant at random” in the settings and the round starts right away.

Autumn outside? In the garden too.
Light and leaves follow your clock and the calendar. Warm in the morning, golden in the evening, at night the lantern and tea house glow. In winter there is snow on the roof.

More for the garden
The points shop has all 16 trees, surprise seeds and garden items, and more is added over time. You get points when someone buys JP Note through your link. With Pro you also pick one item as a thank you, during promotions even two.

Your plant for everyone Beta
In the workshop you design your own trees: growth, size, lean, leaves, blossoms, fruit, bark, even the pattern of a birch. Whatever you cannot set, you describe in a sentence or send up to three pictures. Your design is a suggestion for the shop.
If your submission makes it into the shop, you get the plant for free plus 10 % of its price as points. If the same idea comes from several people, everyone gets the plant for free, without points then.
Goals without pressure
A daily goal, a weekly path of stones and project trees for big plans like a thesis. The project tree turns golden at the goal and gets a place of honour.
Questions about the zen garden
What is the zen garden in JP Note?
A garden that grows with your focus timer. Each round grows a plant, and after the round it moves into the garden of the month. A garden has 60 spots, and lantern, bridge, tea house and more structures appear step by step.
Which plant grows in a round?
The length decides the size: a short sprint grows a small tree, a pomodoro round a medium one and from 50 minutes a large one. Before the round you pick a seed from your seed box or let yourself be surprised. You see which tree it is once it is half grown. With Pro you get two random trees of each size, more are in the points shop.
What happens if I stop a round early?
The plant still stays in the garden. It does not count as a finished round, neither for the daily goal nor in the stats.
Is it the same garden on PC and phone?
Yes. With an account, rounds, goals and plants sync across all devices, encrypted like your notes. Without internet the garden keeps growing on the device and syncs later.
How much does the zen garden cost?
It is part of the focus timer and included in JP Note Pro, a one-time purchase with no subscription. During the trial you can try everything free for 7 days.
Can I switch the zen garden off?
Yes. In the focus timer settings you switch off “Use Zen garden”. The timer keeps working as usual, just without trees.
Can I share my garden?
Yes, as an image or a short video. JP Note turns it into a post or a story for WhatsApp, Instagram and TikTok.
Your first maple is waiting.
The zen garden is part of the focus timer and therefore of Pro and the trial. 7 days free, no payment details.
